Current Fave Bedtime Books

Like all kids, Jack goes through phases with the things he likes, from toys, to foods, to books. Recently he has a few favorite stories we cycle through for bedtime, so I want to share them with you in case you need some fresh bedtime reads.

Where Do Speedboats Sleep at Night?

From Speedboats, to canoes, to ferries, to jet carriers, this adorable bed time book goes through a plethora of different types of boats and ponders where they sleep. The rhymes have a great cadence, and it’s fun to imagine where all these different types of boats sleep at night. This book was actually included in our first month of the Amazon Book Box. We chose the every other month box, so our next books won’t come until October. I’m looking forward to seeing what we get!

Mighty Dads

Target totally got me with their Father’s Day display in the kids books section! I bought this as part of Adam’s Father’s Day gift from Jack, and it’s become a favorite, for sure! Partly because Jack loves any type of vehicle, and partly because (I think!) the rhymes are just so fun! It kind of reminds me of the feel of Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site. Jack and I love to put actions to the different actions of the trucks, we roll our hands for “spin, spin, spin!” and reach wayyyy far for “reach, reach, reach!”

Goodnight Veggies

I honestly can’t even tell you how this book wound up on my book wishlist for Jack, but it did, and I’m so glad we got it! A cute little worm winds his way through “tossing turning veggies” in a cute rooftop urban garden. The art in this book is great, and the story is fun. Sure to be a hit with your little ones.

The Little Engine That Could

And oldie but goodie, you can never go wrong with a classic. This timeless story of a little engine that comes along and helps a broken other train get over the big mountain to bring toys and goodies to all the good little girls and boys in the town on the other side is a classic for a reason. This is a great example of how no matter what, you can always help others, and you never know what you can accomplish until you try!
