Faefever - Karen Marie Moning

I still don’t have a lot to say about this series - there’s fantasy, fighting, and sex. A lot of weirdness. I’m still reading along to find out what the hell happens, and here we are.

Dreamfever - Karen Marie Moning

Things get weird in this book. I still didn’t understand a lot, and I still want to know WTF is going on. I’ started to get a bit annoyed at this point. a LOT of build up, and still no relief. PS - I dropped this book in the pool, so there’s that.

Beach Read - Emily Henry

This was our book club pick this month and I. LOVED it!! I went with the audiobook for this since I am also in the midst of reading a series, and I think I finished it in about three days?! I could not get enough of the characters or their stories, and I wanted to see where it went!! I loved everything about this book - I feel like it was a bit Romeo and Juliet/star-crossed lovers that don’t wind up killing themselves. This WAS a perfect “beach read” even if you’re not at the beach!

Shadowfever - Karen Marie Moning

Honestly, I’m at the point where I’m just over this series. A lot of weird sex with fairies and creatures and weird fae-land time abnormalities and a LOT of unnecessary drivel. Like, get to the point. I hate not finishing a story once I start it, and I pretty much just hate-read the second half of this book, just looking forward to getting it done and over with. I feel like the ending was very anticlimatic. I know there are more books in this series, but I definitely won’t be reading them.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid

THIS BOOK IS MAKING MY TOP 5 FOR THE YEAR. Holy crap. I feel like I can’t talk about it too much in case you haven’t read it yet, but WOW. Evelyn Hugo is a character you love to hate, and her story is a F A N T A S T I C one!! Seriously. I can’t say much more about it other than you NEED to read it. It’s intriguing, the characters are fantastic, and YES! there is a twist you won’t see coming!! Wow. I loved this book so much. You really just have to read it (or listen to it, like I did!) for yourself!!

The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah

I felt like this book started off really slow, but as it got into the guts of the story I really started to enjoy it. I thought the characters were great and developed really well, and the stories were just so interesting to follow. I loved the bit that was in (somewhat) present-day, and how it brought everything full circle. If you’re into WW2 fiction, this is a really incredible read.

Spellbreaker - Charlie M. Holmberg

So I read the Paper Magician series by this same author and really enjoyed it, so I was very excited when a member of my book club mentioned this book was on her to-read list, I had no idea it existed! To be honest, I wasn’t into it at first. It seems like the same kind of world as The Paper Magician, but different. I was expecting the same kind of magic, but it was totally different, so I was put off at first. However, as the story got going, I got invested, and as the pages dwindled down and the story was getting nowhere near the end, I started to get upset that I wasn’t going to get the answers I needed and worried I would have to wait for the next book to come out. Thankfully, the next book IS out, so I’m excited to continue this story!!

Nine Perfect Strangers - Liane Moriarty

I know, I know, I am late on ready this book! My to-read list is so long though, so please excuse me. I’m glad I finally got around to this book, though, because oh man, did it take a turn I was NOT expecting at all! What a hilarious, heartwarming story, with a wacky twist that I was NOT expecting at all!! If I’m being honest, I did think the book went on a bit too long, there were quite a few points when I though the story could be over but then it just kept going. Overall, though, I did really enjoy this book; it was unexpected and I really like when that happens in a story!
